Mountain Healthcare has officially received Accreditation and Course Accreditation from the Faculty of Forensic and Legal Medicine (FFLM)

Mountain Healthcare has officially received accreditation and course approval from the Faculty of Forensic and Legal Medicine (FFLM).

With this milestone, we are proud to announce the launch of a comprehensive 5-day induction course for new starters in our Custody and SARC (Sexual Assault Referral Centre) divisions.

This exciting development reflects our commitment to professional excellence, empowering our new team members with the knowledge and skills needed to excel in these critical healthcare roles.

This accreditation is a significant achievement, making Mountain Healthcare one of the few organisations to offer such an extensive in-house training program.

  • For our Custody division, we are the first and only healthcare organisation to deliver this course in-house to all new starters.
  • For the SARC division, the course supports our compliance with the requirements of the Forensic Science Regulator and accreditation to ISO15189:2022.

We are dedicated to ensuring our new starters receive the highest standard of onboarding, equipping them with essential knowledge and practical skills as they begin their careers with us.

What Does the Induction Cover?

The induction course is designed to provide a solid foundation for healthcare professionals working in forensic, Sexual Assault Referral Centres (SARC), and custody environments.

The courses will be organised into various modules, offering a mix of theoretical learning, practical application, and scenario-based exercises based on the requirements set by the FFLM.

That’s not all, there is more,

Hands-On Learning: Shadowing Period

After completing the induction course, new starters will undertake a shadowing period with experienced doctors, nurses, midwives or paramedics. This ensures that our team members gain invaluable hands-on experience, applying their training in real-world scenarios under expert guidance.

When Does It Start?

We are excited to roll out this program for both Custody and SARC divisions:

  • Custody Division: The course is planned to launch in February, with the first accredited course scheduled for June 2025.
  • SARC Division: The accredited course begins in March 2025.
