What is S.A.F.E.R in Police Custody?

Safeguarding patients in police custody suites is one of the highest priorities of our custody healthcare professionals across the country. We developed S.A.F.E.R. to ensure the safe and effective management of detainees we look after that are intoxicated through substances such as alcohol or drugs, which can be fatal if not managed appropriately. 

All Mountain Healthcare custody healthcare professionals are taught S.A.F.E.R. during their induction and we have now rolled this training out to the police custody staff in the West Midlands.
