The HSJ Awards is undoubtedly the most esteemed accolade of healthcare excellence in the UK. Over the past 43 years, the HSJ Awards has shone a light on the outstanding efforts and achievements that healthcare teams across the entire sector have successfully delivered.
This year, a record-breaking 1456 entries were received, with 223 organisations, projects and individuals making it to the final shortlist, following two rounds of rigorous judging.
Of the 25 categories, the collaborative project by NHSE, MOD Partnership and our Y&TH SARC Team, Mountain Healthcare), on “Sexual Assault Whilst Serving: Commissioning a Forensic Nurse Advisor (Military) as part of the Regional Sexual Assault Referral Centre Service” was shortlisted as one of the finalists for the Military and Civilian Health Partnership Award.
Although we did not win the award, we are delighted to announce that our project has been highly commended at the 2023 HSJ Awards which took place on November 16th at Evolution, London. This is a testament to the exceptional talent and hard work within our team. We are proud to add that this initiative has inspired the creation and commissioning of a Forensic Nurse Advisory role where Armed Forces Personnel can have access to the highest standard of care and support for Sexual Assault Referral Centre (SARC) cases in the North Yorkshire and Humber region, – A global change in the Defence for Victim Care. Hence, we raise a toast to this “commendation”.
Our spokesperson, Emelia Spencer, National SARC Director at Mountain Healthcare comments, “We’re totally thrilled to have been highly commended in the category of Military and Civilian Health Partnership Award. We are delighted to have been involved in this project from its inception and are proud of the partnerships created to support patients who have experienced sexual assault whilst serving.“
